Julian Marley

As for his father Bob, for Julian – the best known of the Marley sons with Ziggy – music is life and life is music, and both are “benedictions from above”. Born in London, Julian developed a talent for singing and rap at a very early age. It was in the 1990s, after returning to Jamaica, that he formed his first group, producing an album in 1996 entitled “Lion's in the Morning” with which they toured the world. For that record he collaborated with “The Ghetto Youths International Production Team” formed by his brothers Stephen and Ziggy. 

The family connection goes even further, since the recording was made at the Tuff Gong Studio in Kingston where his father wrote most of his best known songs. Despite his young age, Julian is considered to be a veteran performer. A talented self-taught musician (bass, drums, keyboards) each of his songs is built on a solid foundation of traditional reggae while also containing a wide range of diverse influences. His music transcends labels and, as he likes to say: “If you like music, any kind of music, it passes through you. We love blues and jazz and many other musicians who make an impression on us." This worthy heir to the Marley clan has everything it takes to get the crowd buzzing.
