Access & traffic

Public transport:

Choose public transport whenever you can as the area is remarkably well served by the TPG. There will be additional vehicles and special timetables after the fireworks on Saturday 8 August.
For more information, please visit www.tpg.ch.

The CFF has also provided extra trains from Geneva Cornavin after the fireworks on Saturday 8 August.

Road closures

The piers are open to traffic except during these two weekends:

From 8:00 pm on Friday 31 July to 4:00 am on Monday 3 August, and from 8:00 pm on Friday 7 August to 4:00 am on Monday 10 August. The piers will be closed from Rue de Lausanne to Rue des Alpes for Quai du Mont-Blanc, and from Place des Marroniers for Quai Gustave Ador.

Quai de Cologny is closed on Sunday 2 August from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for the slowUp. Traffic restrictions for the route are available on the website.

The Mont Blanc bridge is open to traffic, except from 2:00 pm on 1 August for the Grand Parade then the opening fireworks display, and from 5:00 pm on Saturday 8 August for the Grand Fireworks display until Sunday 4:00 am.

Place Trainant and Place des Alpes are closed from 6:00 pm on Saturday 8 August to 4:00 am on Sunday 9 August.

Other traffic restrictions on the orders of the gendarmerie during the Grand Fireworks display on Saturday 8 August 2015 will be indicated by appropriate road signs.

Further information will be added on this page throughout the event.

People with reduced mobility

The Organising Committee of the Fêtes de Genève is constantly endeavouring to improve its infrastructure.

Following the success of last year, the same area will be reserved for spectators in wheelchairs and those with reduced mobility (entry at the Pont du Mont-Blanc) this year! Furthermore, for holders of disability stickers there are parking facilities reserved close by, with access ramps to the stalls and restaurants that slope more gently and are built to be better and safer. Electric cables have also been buried and access to toilets equipped with EURO-key cylinders is guaranteed.

Faced with having to overcome problematic obstacles, the Committee relies on the helping hands of festivalgoers and the friendliness of stall operators in providing their service when the counter is (still) too high.
