The Grand Firework Display 2014 will be particularly spectacular this year, with an all-new logistical set-up. Designed and realised by our Swiss fireworks experts from Pyrostars and Sugyp, on the theme Man and Time, it will again prove its credentials as one of the world’s
greatest displays. Ranging from astronomical observations of antiquity, the sun dial, the hour glass and the clepsydra, to church tower clocks and grandfather clocks, wall clocks and watches, chronometers and the atomic clock, our journey through time will be punctuated by a thousand effects including fountains and Roman candles, tonnes of gunpowder, and of course the famous final bouquet that will light up the sky over the Harbour!
Based in the Harbour over an area of 27,000 square metres and lasting 60 minutes, a dazzling musical firework display - dispatched from around 40 firing stations synchronised to within 1/10th of a second by powerful computers – will, as every year, enthral nearly 600,000 spectators! We need not remind you to come early, preferably via public transport and special CFF trains.
The best informed spectators will be booking seats, which this year can be reserved at the FNAC, either in their shops or via their website, or over the counter at Geneva Tourism, Rue du Mont-Blanc 18, or
in the Jardin Anglais during the Festival. Hurry, because places are limited and those who’ve been before will be quick to snap up tickets!
This grandiose fireworks enjoys exceptional support of the watchmaker Patek Philippe, on the occasion of its 175th Anniversary.
