Program of the Geneva Festival
Theme
The countryside, second nature to Geneva
This year, the Fêtes honour the region with the theme "Un air de campagne" – "a breath of country air": local produce, exhibitions on agriculture, areas dedicated to animals and folk music are on the programme for the 2015 event!
This brings the Geneva region into the fabric of the festival where it is showcased with pleasure and pride alongside bustling terraces, amusement rides, live music and other festivities to make this year's festival even more irresistible.
Culture(s) and diversity
A city of contrasts, Geneva is a clever blend of nature and modernity. Feeding on its history, its people and the souls that run through it, the city is strongly guided by its environment and its deep commitment to openness and tradition. The Geneva Tourism & Conventions Foundation and the Organising Committee are particularly eager to present you the best of 2015 by introducing rural stakeholders from agriculture and the local area.
The countryside in the city
With its inspirational green Land Art arches and themed areas, the Jardin Anglais will transport you into an atmosphere of nature, offering rural and pastoral experiences. The Opage (Office for the Promotion of Agricultural Products of Geneva) and local producers are looking forward to sharing with you all aspects of this countryside, which is so close and yet so filled with mystery for most of us.
2015, year of the lights
The Fêtes de Genève reinvents itself every year for you... Diversity will once again be celebrated through the many stalls, concerts and events that will light up the harbour. The countryside will carry you away to its terroir, a stone's throw from the Jardin Anglais, if you join the famous slowUp.
This "lights edition" will therefore point the spotlight on the Geneva terroir. The magic of pyrotechnics will in turn "set the lake on fire" on the evening of 8 August, with the most magical of fireworks displays.
