It was them, and almost 25 years later they’re still here, in the shape of former Touré Kunda musicians Chico, Jacky, Jean-Claude, Michel; Fania, a Senegalese backing singer who was formerly a Jean-Paul Goude model; and a Brazilian singer, Loalwa. While other recording successes have marked their formidable career – with or without the legendary rhythm of “Dançado Lambada” – such as “Togo Mago” and the Portuguese remake of Stevie Wonder’s Another Star entitled “(Fugir)... Outro Lugar”, more than anything they are and always have been a melting pot of talent who radiate impressive energy during their live performances.
