Clean, green and good for the community – what more could you want?
In order to reduce the amount of waste and promote recycling, the Geneva Festival has chosen social enterprise Orangerie to help set up a system of reusable glasses. Find out more.
Once more, this year the biggest event in Geneva will receive special support in terms of green issues and community ties. It is an initiative that should be welcomed warmly, and we hope it takes off! The Orangerie has been working on social and vocational reintegration for over 25 years, offering services across several sectors, including painting, gardening, cleaning and refuse disposal. It can now offering a washing-up service for plastic materials thanks to its professional cleaning facilities.
Reusable glasses – a commendable initiative
Throughout the Festival, reusable, washable cups will be available to the public. Once you’ve finished your drink, simply return the cup to the bar to get your deposit back. The Orangerie team will take care of the washing-up and drying, and keeping the stands supplied with clean cups.
At the end of their useful life, the cups are melted and recycled. In terms of promoting sustainable development, you can be sure that this solution results in a considerable decrease in waste, while also providing jobs for people in rehabilitation. These reusable glasses do a lot of good – both for the environment and for social reintegration.
