Security & prevention
Security
You’re in very safe hands
Continuous and effective surveillance at hotspots
The Festival will see close collaboration between private security agencies, the Cantonal and Municipal police, as well as the emergency services, the lake police, port authorities, the Lake Geneva International Rescue Society and the SIS firefighters. This will mean that at least 300 people will be on patrol throughout the Festival. As well as “prioritising personal safety, these teams will also work to prevent things getting out of hand, aggressive behaviour and unauthorised street vendors, as well as providing crowd control,” says Pascal Spuhler, Head of Security at the Geneva Festival.
Medical assistance and Samaritans
There are five first-aid points set up by the Geneva Festival Committee to deal with any accidents or people feeling unwell. They are located on both banks of the lake, with an emergency doctor, nurses and Samaritans.
In case of emergency, call 144. !
Drinking responsibly
Imagine a world without alcohol...
From 6 pm each evening, the prevention of alcohol abuse is managed with the assistance of the Juvenile Police and the “Nuit blanche” association.
This issue has been a priority for the last three years and requires the support of a great many people, including the mediators, whose work and achievements deserve recognition.
For a great Festival for everyone, drink in moderation
Along with these preventive efforts, the sale of alcohol is subject to age restrictions: 16 for alcoholic beverages, 18 for spirits. Find a lot of drinkind water point all around the site and also an access to Alco terminal to measure your blood alcohol level.
